There is a problem in the church, and the Holy Spirit grieves in his eagerness to correct it.

Since we were created after the image of God (Genesis 1:27), we should recognize that another work was happening during Creation and that this work remained consistent and true to God’s approach in teaching mankind throughout the Bible’s entirety.

Before He separated earth and sky…

Before He created animals and creatures alike…

Before He sculpted man from dust…

He did something else that was not overtly written. Hidden in the subtext for those willing to identify the Lord in relation to His consistent patterns, He reminded us just why it is important for us to understand who we have been created to mirror in our daily functioning—whose likeness after which we were formed.

Since the very beginning, the Almighty God in His infinite wisdom

Led.

By.

Example.

He was leading by example when He taught us the mechanics of faith—that all we must do is speak what is not readily perceivable and it will be so.

He was leading by example when He stopped to embrace and recognize Himself for the excellent work that was done—a clear illustration of our obligation to worship God for all He does as often as possible.

He was even leading by example when He taught us the importance of resting after working hard to produce good work, because who is the Creator of all things that He should require rest?

And He has never stopped doing this. Even Christ was sent out of the mercy and love of God to continue to show us The Way after the Commandments of God had been distorted and misapplied—after the heart of His Rules had been lost under acts of self-righteousness.

But somehow, so many of us in Christ have lost perspective.

There are those who harshly preach about the Father and identify Him by His response to wickedness. This misrepresentation is then weaponized and wielded to condemn people in need of His love and fellowship.

The work of the Son is taken on self-righteously by those who fail to realize Jesus’ mission has always been to lead by example with love, mercy, true correction, compassion, and wisdom. Before He was crucified and resurrected, Jesus led by example.

And the Holy Spirit is constantly under-credited and objectified, taking on names such as “it,” “the universe,” “my gut,” “something told me,” “my instincts,” instead of being recognized as the Saving Voice keeping us all from destruction which threatens us daily.

He does not need your help. He desires your obedience and commitment to the Way He has revealed.
